JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a part-time Accounts Assistant located in our central London office. This is an entry to mid-level position where you will be working for both our established UK business and newly formed Germany business. For our Germany business, you will be responsible for the month end close duties, including balance sheet reconciliations, updating budgets and forecasts and managing the account receivable and payable functions. For our UK business, you will manage both the accounts receivable and payable functions, alongside general office administration duties. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working closely with Finance Manager to achieve overall department goals
Prepare and review month-end accounts, budgets & forecasts for IBIS DE
Prepare and review annual control budgets for IBIS DE
Accounts Receivable for IBIS UK and IBIS DE
Accounts Payable for IBIS UK and IBIS DE
Office Administration
Carry out other duties as required
Working closely with Finance Manager to achieve overall department goals
Ensure timely and accurate preparation of month-end accounts, including balance sheet and P&L reconciliations, updating monthly budgets and forecasts, and provide feedback on variances
Accurately prepare and review annual company budgets and coordinate completion with the Managing Director and Senior Finance Assistant. Analyze and query variances from the prior year
Manage debtors process to ensure invoices are being raised in a timely manner (within 24 hours), internal & external queries are efficiently and adequately dealt with, debts are collected in a timely manner and debt collection process is being adhered to
Manage accounts payable function, including entering, coding and paying creditors, credit cards and employee expenses. Query anomalies and ensure timely and accurate coding and payment
Carry out office administration as required
Assist with additional projects and tasks as required
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or a related field is an advantage
Some experience in an accounting role an advantage
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including an intermediate skill level in Excel
Experience using an accounting software package is preferable
Experience working across a broad range of tasks and meeting deadlines
Ethical principles and ability to work with a high degree of confidentiality
High level of attention to detail, and good initiative
Ability work both independently and as a part of a team
Ability to work quickly and accurately, with a proactive “can do” attitude
Strong written and verbal communication skills
German-speaking and writing is an advantage
